Maruzen Nihombashi Main Store, the bookstore with the largest foreign collection
in Japan, will stop selling books at the end of September. The other floors
which sell stationery, etc. will close October 16th. The building will be
rebuilt and a new store will reopen on the site in spring 2007.

Maruzen will open a large store on the opposite Marunouchi (west) side of JR
Tokyo on September 14 (Tuesday). More than twice as large as the current
Nihombashi Store, it will serve as the chain's new head. Note that this is
different from the store now open in Marunouchi Building (Maru-biru).

Maruzen does not plan to entirely vacate the Nihombashi neighborhood. A small
temporary store on a block south of the current store will sell books from end
of October 2004. Its foreign section is likely to be much smaller than that of
the new Marunouchi Store.

Maruzen Nihombashi main opened September 14th.

A large, finely classified foreign section and a small reference library is on
the 4th floor.

Marunouchi OAZO is visible to the northwest of JR Tokyo Marunouchi North Exit.
The complex has an entrance on the north side, near Subway Otemachi Exit
B2b. Tozai Line is convenient, but other platforms are quite far. In
either case stay underground until you find B2. With the Marunouchi Line, use
Tokyo, not Otemachi. Various routes are possible between the Jimbocho area and
Marunouchi OAZO but no subway/JR line is convenient to both.

Open 9:00-21:00. Reference library open 10:00-19:00.
