Odakyu Electric Railway will make large changes in its timetables. The new
schedule will come into effect on December 11 (Saturday).

The revision will exploit the newly completed four-track section in Setagaya-ku,
Tokyo. It is also seen as a counter-measure to the recent service improvements
on JR East's Shonan Shinjuku route.

As railroad companies try to hold markets in a economic recession, train
varieties increase. The result is complicated service charts that daunt the
non-frequent traveller. However, railroads are not doing a great job making
this sort of information available in foreign languages. Someone has to fill
this information gap. Volunteers greatly welcome.

The Rapid-Express does not look like an ideal vehicle for Hakone tourists.
The first run for Odawara leaves Shinjuku at 11:19 AM weekdays.

2.5 Tokyo to Ebina
Sorry. For these I gave the directions west -> east while the headers (above)
go east -> west.

Three more points:

1) Odakyu is not a JR Line. Japan Rail Pass is not valid for this railroad.
2) Another Tokyo railroad, Tobu has a train called 'Kukan-Junkyuu'.
I don't know what English translation Tobu uses for this.
3) Mukogaoka-Yuen Stataion will not change name.
(The amusement park (yuuenchi) closed a couple years ago.)

I wish they would, it's a pain in the butt. They should called it
shin noborito.
